- Swallowing Therapy occurs when a patient has difficulty
tolerating oral feeding. This type of therapy is done by a speech therapist and includes strengthening exercises, sensory stimulation,
positional modifications during feeding, and/or diet texture modifications. The therapist works directly with the patient and family to establish a plan best suited and individualized for that patient and family. This therapy often includes follow up testing to ensure efficacy. These services are available at our Emory Decatur Hospital and Emory Hillandale outpatient clinics.
