Emory Decatur Hospital’s state-of-the-art radiology and medical imaging services and facilities have been recognized by some of the leading healthcare organizations in the field. All of our radiology and medical imaging facilities are accredited by the Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization that sets the standards by which health care quality is measured and evaluates the quality and safety of care for more than 17,000 health care organizations.
The Diagnostic Breast Center at Emory Decatur Hospital is accredited by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the American College of Radiology (ACR). The MRI department also is accredited by the American College of Radiology.
All of our radiologists are board certified with the American College of Radiology. All Emory Decatur Hospital sonographers, medical imaging technicians who perform ultrasound scans, are registered through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and are CPR certified. All imaging technolgists at Emory Decatur Hospital are registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and are CPR certified.
Emory Decatur Hospital’s School of Radiologic Technology offers a 24-month, 40-hour-per-week, full-time certification program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). For more than 45 years, our competency-based clinical radiology program has allowed students to receive both classroom and clinical instruction, which are required for graduation by the JRCERT.
