5 things the new parent support group will teach you

October 12, 2018

Are you a new parent with a child six months old or younger and have tons of questions or concerns? Emory Decatur Hospital offers a parent support group that provides an environment where parents can get out of the house, connect with other parents and learn about various topics from expert guest speakers. Whether you want to know more about postpartum anxiety, pelvic floor recovery or newborn cognitive development, this is a place where parents can learn how to navigate life with their new baby.
This group will help new families navigate the transition from pregnancy into everything that comes after.  “When talking about new parenthood, we often say, ‘it takes a village’, and we like to invite families to start building that village in this group,” said Michelle V. Pratt, RNC-MNN, BSN, Unit Director, Lactation & OB Navigation at Emory Decatur Hospital.
All new families with their children who are six months old or younger, are invited to join. The group meets each Thursday at 10 a.m. Emory Decatur Hospital. For more information, contact Michelle Pratt at 404-501-3050 or michelle.pratt@emoryhealthcare.org.
