Support Groups
DeKalb Medical offers several pregnancy support groups as well as classes to help you with parenting. These groups bring together moms and dads who are experiencing pregnancy and find it useful to talk with others going through the same experience. Pregnancy support groups can help relieve the anxiety and stress of pregnancy and parenthood. Registration is easy and can be done by calling 404.501.WELL (9355).
Baby Talk - Breastfeeding Support Group
This weekly mother-to-mother support group, facilitated by a certified lactation consultant, has been in existence for more than 10 years for women to support and empower each other as a breastfeeding mom. Baby weight checks also are also available. The group meets in room 3040 of the Dr. Bobbie Bailey Tower at DeKalb Medical at North Decatur on Thursdays from 11 a.m.-noon. New Parents Support Group
This support group offers camaraderie and information of interest to new parents, and babies are welcome. The group meets in the 4th floor classroom of the Dr. Bobbie Bailey Tower at DeKalb Medical at North Decatur. Parents of infants up to 6 months old meet on Thursdays from 10 a.m.-11 a.m., while parents of infants ages 6 months to 1 year meet on Thursdays from 11 a.m.-noon. Compassionate Parents
This group provides support and understanding to parents who have lost their infants in death. For information, call 404.501.5400.
