Virtual Tour - Maternity Services
In many ways, The Dr. Bobbie Bailey Women’s and Surgery Center at DeKalb Medical is representative of the renaissance that Decatur has undergone in the past several years. When you tour the DeKalb Medical maternity center, you’ll see that we cater to the tastes of a sophisticated, dynamic community through the new Dr. Bobbie Bailey Women’s and Surgery Center which opened in 2007. Designed as a warm Craftsman style building with stonework, fireplaces and warm lighting, the interiors resemble a high-end hotel or spa and create a soothing atmosphere.
Prominently located on DeKalb Medical’s North Decatur Road campus, the Maternity Center provides family-centered care as we strive to provide the best experience possible for both mother and baby including:
- 18 private Labor-Delivery-Recovery (LDR) suites that allow mom to labor, delivery and recover in comfortable surroundings, with a private waiting alcove just outside the suite for important family members who want to be close by.
- 52 private postpartum Mother-Baby rooms are designed to provide a quiet, comfortable place to rest and recover post-delivery. You’ll find conveniences such as high-speed Internet access, private bathrooms, and window seat couches roomy enough for guests to sleep over.
- Amenities including Subway®, a business resource center, a 100-seat auditorium, a Mother & Baby Boutique and Lactation Center.
We’d be delighted to show you our mother and baby facilities and encourage you to tour the DeKalb Medical maternity facility as early as possible in your pregnancy. Register by calling 404.501.WELL. The tour starts with a presentation in the comfort of the auditorium. The presentation includes:
- Information on where to park and check in.
- Information on selecting a pediatrician.
- Information about carseats.
- Visiting guidelines for Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby and NICU.
The presentation is followed by an opportunity to preregister for admission, which minimizes delays and makes your admission when you are in labor quick and trouble-free. Be sure to bring a photo ID and your insurance card to the tour.
