He was tired of the up and down weight struggles and it was taking a toll on his overall health. The pressure on his knees alone will require him have knee surgery. He felt trapped in a weight battle and an endless cycle that he was losing. Finally, Ray had had enough.
As a sportscaster for CNN, Ray was expected to look good for the camera. But his weight would continue to go up and down, between 187 and 220 pounds. In order to keep the weight off and to win in his weight control battle, he knew that he needed to make a lifestyle adjustment. With encouragement from his wife, he attended the DeKalb Medical Surgical Weight Loss seminar.
During the 90 minute seminar, Ray gained a greater understanding of the gastric bypass process. After the seminar, he met Dr. Steinburg and staff and fell in love with all of them. It was only weeks later that he decided to move forward with the surgery.
“The surgery was a life changer for me and you can’t get anybody better than Dr. Steinberg,” said Ray. “I feel like I’m in my twenty’s again and it feels good!” He doesn’t have the urge to eat the wrong foods at the wrong times anymore. He stays active, exercises and coaches football at his daughter’s high school. Another lifestyle change he made is when he gets full, he stops eating. Even if it means not finishing the meal.
Today, he follows Dr. Steinburg’s diet. He also gets support from Brittany, who helps him get through everything.
Now more than ever, Ray is winning!
