About Our Treatment of Chronic Sleep Disorders and Sleep Disorder Solutions
Diagnosing Chronic Sleep Disorders
Since 1995 DeKalb Medical’s expert Sleep Disorders Center staff and physicians have helped people diagnose their chronic sleep disorders. Our expert staff in Atlanta at DeKalb Medical can develop the right sleep disorder solution to treat your sleep problem.
People with chronic sleep disorders experience excessive daytime sleepiness, loud snoring, pauses in their breathing while sleeping, legs that move during sleep, or tiredness immediately after waking in the morning. Sleep disorder solutions can range from lifestyle and diet changes, to the use of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), or in severe cases, surgery. The key to successful treatment is to properly diagnose a chronic sleep disorder.
The most common problems diagnosed and treated at DeKalb Medical’s Sleep Disorders Center are:
- Sleep apnea
- Restless leg syndrome
- Excessive daytime somnolence
- Sleep walking/talking/eating
Finding your sleep disorder solution
A range of non-invasive sleep studies is available to identify your specific chronic sleep disorder and develop the proper sleep disorder solution. The studies are conducted at the DeKalb Medical Sleep Disorders Center and experienced, specially trained physicians interpret the results and help you and your physician determine if you do have a sleep disorder, what type of disorder and the best sleep disorder treatment for your condition. Our staff has the knowledge and training needed to safely and effectively develop a sleep disorder treatment plan that works for you.
