We offer respectful care throughout every step of the labor, birth and postpartum process, and adopt a holistic approach which addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the mother-to-be and her baby. We give personalized care with respect and dignity that is woman centered and empowering.

In 2014, DeKalb Medical was the first hospital in Georgia to earn the international “Baby-Friendly” Hospital Initiative (BFHI) designation from Baby-Friendly USA, Inc. In addition to the prestigious “Baby-Friendly” designation, the hospital was also awarded a 5-STAR Hospital Recognition from the Georgia Department of Public Health in 2015.

At DeKalb Medical, you will find state-of-the-art labor and delivery rooms, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and our 24/7 onsite neonatologists, anesthesiologists and obstetricians. It's care you can trust from health professionals (perinatologists, neonatologists pediatricians and a skilled nursing staff) who are working in concert to ensure a safe delivery and a positive, fulfilling birth experience.

Baby-Friendly Initiative

DeKalb Medical is the first hospital in the state of Georgia to be recognized as Baby-Friendly.

Umbilical Cord Blood Donation

As one of the only Georgia hospitals to offer free umbilical cord blood donation, DeKalb Medical partners with New York Blood Center’s National Cord Blood Program to collect umbilical cord blood following childbirth in efforts to help patients worldwide.

Support Groups

DeKalb Medical offers various support groups for Bariatrics, Maternity, Grief, Cancer and Addiction.
