To help you prevent heart disease or improve your heart health, DeKalb Medical offers screenings, heart education including physician talks, a full service Wellness Center, and a tobacco cessation program.

Education

DeKalb Medical offers a variety of cardiovascular education classes to promote heart health. These educational offerings help individuals address issues related to heart disease and focus on specific topics related to cardiovascular disease. We also host physician talks on the latest in treatment and lifestyle changes to improve heart health, as well as other subjects of interest to those affected by cardiovascular disease. Listen in as Dr. Anthony Dorsey talks about your heart and healthy eating or Dr. Andrew Dixon explains how high blood pressure affects your kidneys.

The Wellness Center

The DeKalb Medical Wellness Center is an 18,000-square-foot fully-equipped fitness facility complete with an indoor pool and indoor track. We offer a variety of programs and services in the areas of fitness, lifestyle education, and integrative medicine. Read more to learn about The Wellness Center.

Tobacco Cessation

Need help with quitting? Call 404.501.5428 for a private, one-on-one consultation to assist you in kicking the cigarette habit for good. See page 3 of the Healthy Living Calendar for more information. (There is a fee for this service.)

DeKalb Medical also teams up with Nicotine Anonymous to provide a smoking cessation group. This is a 12-step program to help you quit nicotine and to provide ongoing support. There is no cost and no registration required. The group meets every Friday from 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. For more information call the Nicotine Anonymous Hotline at 404.244.8444.
