Atlanta, GA – DeKalb Medical has two important community events on May 18th. In honor of National Stroke Awareness Month, DeKalb Medical will provide stroke education at two area Kroger locations. Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke. That said, 80% of all strokes are preventable. Learn important tips on how to spot a stroke, as well as stroke prevention and stroke treatment information. Visit one of these two locations for free stroke education:
Neurology Specialist Dr. Joey Boiser will be available for interviews and will be onsite to discuss stroke prevention and treatment. The community is encouraged to come out to learn important facts about stroke.
DeKalb Medical will also be participating in the 4th Annual AMR World CPR Challenge Day on May 18th. The goal of the World CPR Challenge day is to is to train as many individuals in compression-only CPR (bystander CPR/hands only CPR) as possible in one day. Last year the Challenge trained over 67,000 people. Booths will be set up in three locations: the Main Entrance and the Professional Building at DeKalb Medical North Decatur (2701 North Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA) and the Main Entrance at DeKalb Medical Hillandale (2801 DeKalb Medical Pkwy Lithonia, GA).
