DeKalb Medical Foundation Welcomes New Board Member

DeKalb Medical Foundation welcomes Matthew Hogan, M.D. to its Board of Trustees. Dr. Hogan has been with DeKalb Medical for more than 6 years and is currently Associate Medical Director.  

“I am very excited and proud to welcome Dr. Hogan to the DeKalb Medical Foundation,” said Medical Vice Co-Chair Raoul Mayer, Ph.D., M.D. “He has a unique understanding of the DeKalb Medical physicians and staff and has proven himself as a physician leader. He also has the knowledge and unique ability to successfully identify potential contributors.”

Dr. Hogan explains he joined the Board of Trustees as part of a commitment to improve his community.

“I live in [nearby] Oakhurst,” he said. “It is very important to me to be a part of supporting the community and DeKalb Medical is a big part of that. I want to help make sure the hospital functions at the highest level it can.”

In addition to his position on the Board, Dr. Hogan is involved in several other DeKalb Medical committees including, Physicians Advisory Counsel, Patient Safety Committee, Professional Practice Executive Committee, Graduate Medical Education, and the Stroke Committee. He is also the Co-Chair of Internal Medicine for The American University of Antigua and an adjunct professor at Morehouse College in Atlanta.

Dr. Hogan earned his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. He lives with his wife, Elizabeth, and two children in the Oakhurst area of Decatur, GA.
