DeKalb Medical Names Sharon Mawby VP of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer

DECATUR, GA -- DeKalb Medical is pleased to announce the appointment of Sharon Mawby, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, to Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
“For the past three years, Sharon has successfully filled the position of Executive Director, Medical and Surgical Services at North Decatur and has grown to be a respected and valued member of our leadership team, said Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Dane Henry. “ Without a doubt, Sharon will bring the same passion for excellence, quality, service and safety to the role of CNO.”
Mawby has been with DeKalb Medical since 2013. Prior to that she served as Clinical Adult Services Director and Clinical Practice Leader at Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek Medical Center in Walnut Creek, California where she oversaw all inpatient critical care and medical-surgical units, and advanced practice registered nurses. She was also the Senior Director for Clinical Services at Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona where she oversaw the inpatient medical-surgical and behavioral health units, house supervisors, and the nursing administration office, including four nursing directors.
Mawby is board-certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Nurse Executive-Advanced. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida and retired from the United States Navy in 2003.
