The DeKalb Medical Foundation launches Light Up a Life campaign
December 11, 2014
During this joyous season, the DeKalb Medical Foundation is raising funds
to help support the purchase of an additional breast ultrasound unit, a key component to diagnosing, or ruling, out breast cancer – through the annual Light up a Life campaign.
The acquisition of an additional breast ultrasound unit will enable women to get appointments more quickly, and speed their peace of mind that comes with knowing their diagnosis earlier. A breast ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure, used in conjunction with mammography, to help determine the nature of breast masses found during physical examination or mammography.
“Without the generous donations of individuals in the community, some of the advanced technology we provide our patients would not be possible,” stated Leigh Minter, Executive Director of the DeKalb Medical Foundation. “The Light Up a Life campaign is a way for us to acquire the necessary funds to purchase state of the art equipment to provide the best patient care.”
Potential donors are encouraged to make a donation in honor, or memory, of loved ones. The donor and honoree will be featured in our 2014 Book of Love Lights, prominently displayed in the DeKalb Medical lobby at North Decatur. In addition, your honoree will receive a special holiday card notifying them of the treasured tribute in their name, which is also published in our community magazine, Pushing Beyond.
