DeKalb Medical Physicians Group growing at rapid pace, hiring physicians at multiple locations

July 29, 2014

The DeKalb Medical Physicians Group, a network of 16 primary care practices and nine specialist practices located throughout the eastern metro-Atlanta area, is rapidly expanding its service area and offerings with the addition of multiple physicians and practices.

The group is a part of the DeKalb Regional Health System, which in the July 11, 2014 issue of Atlanta Business Chronicle was ranked second among the fastest growing employers in metro-Atlanta. This growth is attributed mainly to the expansion of the physician group, which announces the addition of three physicians.

Atlanta Podiatry Group has added Emily A. Hermes, D.P.M., to its practice. Dr. Hermes is a graduate of the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. She completed her surgical residency at DeKalb Medical and is a faculty member of the Podiatry Institute.

Stone Mountain Primary Care welcomed Laurae M. Carpenetti, M.D., to their primary care practice as it expands its office space and renovate. Dr. Carpenetti received her medical degree from the University of Miami in Miami, Fla. and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami as well. She has over 12 years of experience and has received recognition for quality care in the areas of hypertension and diabetes.

Killian Hill Primary care, located on Five Forks Trickum Road in Lilburn, Ga. is pleased to announce that Jennifer A. Burkmar, M.D., M.B.A., is joining its practice in August. Dr. Burkmar earned her medical degree at the Medical University of the Americas in Nevis, West Indies and received her master’s in healthcare administration from Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Mich.
