More about the Bipolar Disorder Community Forum
Capitalizing on Dr. Kahn's and department staff's expertise and experience in crisis stabilization of bipolar disorder-based acute episodes of mania or depression with suicidal ideation, the goals of the group are to:
- Support and educate family members and friends about Bipolar disorder, including diagnosis and prognosis with and without treatment
- Remove the stigma and mystery surrounding this medical disease that often manifests through dangerous or provocative behaviors by the identified patient
- Help reduce readmissions of people with Bipolar disorder to the hospital by decreasing relapse and increasing compliance with treatment recommendations.
