The DeKalb Medical Physicians Group Welcomes New Providers

Specialties include interventional spine, family medicine, family nurse practitioner, general orthopedic surgeon and two certified physician assistants


Amod Sureka, MD joins Atlanta Neurosurgical Associates as new interventional spine physician.  Dr. Sureka is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  He received his medical degree at SIU School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois and completed a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Schwab Rehab/University of Chicago. Dr. Amod Sureka specializes in the treatment of spine pain in adults. He is dedicated to providing personal care to his patients and will develop a treatment plan that fits their needs.


Marcella Kennedy, DO joins Montreal Internal Medicine as its newest board-certified family medicine physician.  Dr. Kennedy is board-certified in Family Medicine with a degree in medicine from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.  She completed a Family Practice Residency at Mercy Health Partners in 2013 and continued her professional experience as a Family Practice physician in Arizona until moving to the Atlanta area.  Dr. Kennedy is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and American Academy of Family Physicians.


Michelle Hosang, NP-C joins Surgical Associates as a certified family nurse practitioner and a certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse.  She received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Georgia State University. 


She is a professional member of the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Association (ANA), Georgia Nurses Association (GNA) and the Society of Plastic Surgery Skin Care Specialists (SPSSCS).


Saif Zaman, MD joins DeKalb Orthopedics and Sports Medicine as a general orthopedic surgeon.  He will see patients at both the Decatur and Hillandale office locations.  He earned his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine. Prior to studying medicine, he received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University majoring in Biology and a minoring in Chemistry. He continued on to complete an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Southern California and a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at The Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University working with the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Flyers.


He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Academy of Sports Medicine, Alpha Omega Alpha, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.


Farida Ahmadi, PA-C joins Drs. Marchal, Monett, Murray and Anna Steinberg at Downtown Decatur Family Medicine. She is a certified physician assistant with a Master’s in medical sciences from Emory University School of Medicine and a Master's in public health from University of Georgia. Her medical interests include HTN, DMII, CVD, women's health, and disease prevention.


Dr. Ahmadi is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Georgia Association of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Family Physicians.


Stephanie Richards, PA-C joins Toco Hills Primary Care as a certified physician assistant.

She has a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.  Prior to, she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from Baylor University in Waco, TX.


Before joining Toco Hills Primary Care, Stephanie worked in Caledonia, MI at Metro Health, University of Michigan Health as a physician assistant.  There she gained working medical experience spanning a multitude of healthcare services, including developing and implementing treatment plans and options, diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures, preventive care, patient education, and more.
