Margaret and Terry Stent Margaret and Terry Stent were recognized for their lifelong support and legacy of leadership at a special reception held on the North Decatur campus, where DeKalb Medical’s Radiation Oncology Center was dedicated to the memory of Terry Stent’s mother, Yvonne T. Stent, who lost her battle with lung cancer. The power of the Stent’s pacesetting donation in 2014 inspired more than 1,200 individual and corporate gifts, enabling DeKalb Medical to realize its $2 million capital campaign goal in record time. The Advancing Hope and Healing campaign funded a renovation of DeKalb Medical’s North Decatur Radiation Oncology Suite by adding 14,000 additional square feet to enhance care and comfort for oncology patients. Known for their philanthropy and passionate support of the arts, medicine and education in Atlanta, the Stents have devoted their lives to bringing beauty and vitality to every corner of their beloved DeKalb County community. After losing his mother to lung cancer, Terry and his wife, a former nurse, felt inspired and motivated to help others and strengthen the quality of DeKalb Medical’s cancer care with a $1 million challenge grant. “We are happy to be in a position to give back. We have lived more than half of our lives in DeKalb County, and are proud to do what we can to provide better medicine and more of it here at home,” share the Stents.
