Dr. Weissman has been practicing neurology in Atlanta since 1989. He is board-certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with additional qualifications in Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Weissman has a particular interest in epilepsy and sleep disorders. He also sees patients in general neurology including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, muscle disorders, headache and peripheral neuropathy.
Dr. Weissman received an A.B. in chemistry at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, in 1974 and subsequently received a Ph.D. in biochemistry and an M.D. at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, in 1982. He completed a residency in neurology in 1989 at University Hospitals of Cleveland. After completing a Neurophysiology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, in 1989-1990, he joined the faculty and was involved in research and clinical activities, particularly with epilepsy, sleep disorders, and disorders of metabolism in neurology. He joined Neurology and Headache Specialists (currently known as Neurology Specialists of Decatur) of Atlanta in 2001.
Dr. Weissman is an active member in the American Academy of Neurology, the American Epilepsy Society and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He is also chair of the Institutional Revenue Board at DeKalb Medical. He and his wife, Barbara Weissman, M.D., a pediatric neurologist, and two children live in Atlanta. Dr. Weissman enjoys road cycling, playing the cello and wildlife photography.
Dr. Shuler has been a practicing neurologist since 2003. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a general neurologist and enjoys seeing patients with all neurological disorders including multiple sclerosis, headaches and Alzheimer’s disease. She has advanced training in epilepsy diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Shuler is originally from Crawfordsville, Indiana. She received her B.S. in Food Chemistry from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, in 1994 and her M.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1998. She completed her internship and residency in neurology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, with an emphasis in epilepsy.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Shuler pursued a career as a professional musician. She received a degree from the Guitar Institute of Technology in 1984. She continues to play for fun and in her spare time enjoys running, any athletic activities, cooking and following current events. She has a daughter and a son who bring her great joy.
Dr. Boiser is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as the Philippine Neurological Association. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Stroke Association. He completed his fellowship in Vascular (Stroke) Neurology at the Yale School of Medicine.
Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Boiser completed his residency in Neurology at the Saint Louis University of Health Sciences Center, where he served as Chief Resident in his senior year. He earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. Before joining Neurology Specialists of Decatur, he was a partner at the Alabama Neurological Clinic in Montgomery, AL. Dr. Boiser specializes in adult clinical neurology and stroke.
When Dr. Boiser isn’t seeing patients, he enjoys traveling and photography, as well as all things automotive.
Tamara S. Greene, M.D. is a board certified neurologist who just recently joined DeKalb Medical Physicians Group Neurology Specialists of North Decatur. She takes particular interest in seeing and treating patients with neuromuscular disorders.
In 2000, Dr. Greene received her undergraduate degree from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, LA, and then went on to receive her doctorate of medicine from St. Louis University School of Medicine. She completed both her internship and residency programs at the UT Houston Department of Neurology UT Houston Health Science Center in Houston, TX. Just prior to joining Neurology Specialists of North Decatur, Dr. Greene practiced part-time as a private neurologist, while simultaneously completed a Clinical Neuromuscular Fellowship program at The Methodist Neurological Institute in Houston, TX.
Dr. Greene is the recipient of numerous honors including being named Chief Resident at UT Houston Health Science Center as well as having the honorable experience to participant in the J. Kiffin Penry Epilepsy Mini-Fellowship Program.
Dr. Greene maintains active memberships with the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine and the American Academy of Neurology, among others.
When she’s not busy with her patients, Dr. Greene enjoys aerobics, traveling, cooking and attending concerts.
