Dr. Eddie Whitehead is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who recently joined DeKalb Medical Physicians Group Winn Way Internal Medicine. Prior to joining, he served as the CEO and Medical Director for Georgia Internal Medicine Care Associates, P.C. for 20 years.
Dr. Whitehead received his undergraduate degree from Valdosta State College (now Valdosta State University) in 1976 and went on to receive his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout his medical career, including receiving the Resident of the Year award at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Whitehead served on the Board of Directors for the DeKalb Physician Hospital Organization from 2006-2008 and was Chief of Medicine for DeKalb Medical at Hillandale from 2007-2009. Dr. Whitehead is also a member of the National Medical Association and American Medical Association.
Dr. Whitehead treats patients 17 years of age and older and offers extended office hours on Mondays. He is married with three grown children and enjoys cooking, fishing and woodworking.
DeKalb Medical Physicians Group Miller Grove Primary Care is proud to add Kinzi V. Shewmake, M.D., to its practice. Shewmake is an experienced primary care and urgent care physician. She was most recently an urgent care physician at Urgent Care of Cameron Hospital in Angola, IN.
Shewmake was awarded her MD and master’s degree in biomedical sciences from American University of the Caribbean, and family practice residency education from Fort Wayne Medical Education Program. There she received extensive training in obstetrics and gynecology.
Shewmake is American Board of Family Medicine certified.
Jerry Wilson, PA-C , is a certified physician assistant who joined Miller Grove Primary Care in April 2015. He most recently practiced medicine at the VA Medical Center, treating and caring for acute care veterans.
Wilson received his undergraduate degree at Morehouse College in Atlanta and a Master of Science degree from Clark Atlanta University. He then completed graduate research work from the University of South Florida and finally achieved his physician assistant training from Emory University.
Wilson enjoys caring for patients of all ages and has significant experience in family and internal medicine, urgent care, OB/GYN care and pediatrics. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants. He continues to be active in his alma mater by working as a Physician Assistant Program mentor.
