Michael A. Quiñones, M.D.

Dr. Michael A. Quiñones specializes in general surgery, breast surgery, and cancer surgery. Dr. Quiñones received his bachelor’s degree and Master of Science at Yale University, graduating with the highest honors possible. He received his MD from Harvard Medical School, also with cum laude honors. He completed surgery training at the Harvard Brigham and Women’s hospital and a fellowship with the American Cancer Society. He also investigated the molecular biology of cancer as a Cancer Research Fellow at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Dr. Quiñones is published in nationally recognized journals and has consistently been named a Top Surgeon by the Consumers Research Council of America. He has also been a consistent Top Doctor in Atlanta Magazine. He is board certified, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, and a member of the Association of Academic Surgeons. Dr. Quiñones was the first surgeon in Georgia to perform HIPEC, an advanced procedure that has been shown to extend the lives of patients with certain types of abdominal cancers.

Dr. Quiñones is a leader in his field and has served as chief of general surgery, chief of surgery, vice chief of staff, and chief of staff. He is a member to DeKalb Medical’s board of directors.

Dr. M. Quinones

Tyler S. Reynolds, M.D

As a board-certified general surgeon, Tyler S. Reynolds, M.D., provides the full spectrum of compassionate and comprehensive general surgical care from prevention of disease to detection and personalized treatment plans.

Dr. Reynolds completed medical school at Saint Louis University in 2006 followed by General Surgery residency training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in 2012 where his research focused on complex cardiovascular disease.

His interests lie in simple and complex hernia management, breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, digestive tract disease detection and management, and minimally-invasive abdominal surgery. Having actively served as a general surgeon with the US Air Force after residency, he is honored to care for veterans and those currently serving.
Dr. T. Reynolds

Nimesh Shah, M.D.

Nimesh N. Shah, M.D. received his Bachelor of Science at Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating with honors, followed by his Medical Degree from University of Tennessee School of Medicine.

He completed his surgery training as a General Surgery Intern at Erlanger Medical Center at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Shortly after, he began his General Surgery Residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando Health in Florida.

Prior to joining DeKalb Medical, Dr. Shah worked as a General Surgeon at Southern Regional Medical Center in Atlanta. He was also the Resident Instructor of Surgery for the Affiliated and Volunteer Faculty Program at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.

Dr. Shah is a Resident Member of American College of Surgeons and is certified as a provider of Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS). Dr. Shah enjoys trivia and spending his time outdoors by skiing, tennis, and discovering new restaurants around town.

Amy Hoke, Patient Navigator

Amy Hoke, CN-BA, began working for Dr. Michael Quiñones as his Practice Manager in 1999. Under Dr. Quiñones’ training she has worked with cancer patients for close to a decade. Amy is certified as a navigator through the Harold P. Freeman Patient Navigation Institute and the National Consortium of Breast Centers. She is a member of Cancer Patient Navigators of Georgia, The American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Academy of Oncology Nurse and Patient Navigators.

Amy serves on the board of Directors for the Georgia Breast Cancer Coalition and on the Education Committee for Cancer Patient Navigators of Georgia. She is the Co-Chair of the Continuum of Care Committee for DeKalb Medical and serves on the Cancer Screening and Prevention Committee for DeKalb Medical.

Amy is also the facilitator for the cancer support group held at Jodeco Road UMC. She is now serving as an alternate to the Executive Council for the National Breast Cancer Coalition.
