Hope and Healing: Learn More about Cancer Healing

Research has demonstrated that a strong spiritual element can influence a cancer patient’s healing and survival. The chaplains at DeKalb Medical provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, family members and staff on an ongoing basis.

A monthly non-denominational service of “Hope and Healing” is available to all patients and their families, offering healing prayers, meditations and the symbolic act of anointing the sick. This service occurs the second Tuesday of each month from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. in the Stubb’s Auditorium and is open to any person in the community regardless of your religious affiliation or whether or not you have a cancer diagnosis. A weekly prayer request service is also offered in the hospital’s chapel, as well as individual, family and grief counseling to all patients who need support on their journey to cancer healing and survivorship.
