Decatur, Ga. – (Nov. 9, 2009) Jackie Paynter, RN, MPH, CCM joins DeKalb Medical as Director of Quality and Care Management. She brings a wealth of Quality and Care Management experience from both the provider and payor sectors of the health care industry, having taken on progressive levels of responsibility for hospital systems and health care organizations of various sizes throughout the United States.
Most recently, Paynter served as the Director of Care Management at Brandon Regional Hospital, where she led the transformation of Case Management to an integrated Care Coordination model, strengthened revenue protection by improving level of care determination and denial management processes, and implemented innovations in patient throughput resulting in substantial reductions in Emergency Department hold times as well as both the inpatient and observation lengths of stay.
Prior, Paynter served the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens, NY as Director of Utilization Management, Discharge Planning, and Quality Improvement. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Howard University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from SUNY Regents College, and a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology from the UCLA School of Public Health
