Media Visits
DeKalb Medical welcomes visits from the media with prior permission from our Media Relations office. Journalists are asked to contact a DeKalb Medical Media Relations Coordinator any time they plan to visit DeKalb Medical. Call 404.501.2885 in advance to arrange for our Media Relations Coordinator to meet you upon arrival. All media personnel must be accompanied by a DeKalb Medical Media Relations Coordinator while visiting any of our campuses.
Consent Forms
For the safety and privacy of our patients, visitors and staff, our standard policies, including HIPAA compliance, extend to journalists as well. See Protected Health Information (PHI) and HIPAA Compliance. We have strict rules regarding patient confidentiality and consideration. We must have consent forms signed when journalists visiting DeKalb Medical use names or photos of patients and staff. These forms must be signed in the presence of a DeKalb Medical Media Relations Coordinator.
Journalists are welcome on the DeKalb Medical campuses. We are open to hosting individual reporters or crews in surgery, in clinics, or in meeting our faculty, staff, volunteers and patients. We strictly adhere to our guidelines for journalists.
