| Due to their complex medical/rehabilitative needs, patients at DeKalb Medical's LTAC typically experience a two- to six-week length of stay.
Patient diagnoses typically fall into one or more of the following categories:
- Neurological disease
- Infectious disease
- Severe stroke
- Renal dysfunction
- Multi-system failure
- Cardiac disease
- End-stage respiratory distress
- Ventilator weaning
- Wound care
- Severe malnutrition requiring TPN
- Catastrophic injuries
- Extensive post-operative complications
- Complicated orthopedics
