DeKalb Medical offers state-of-the-art radiology and medical imaging services and facilities for a variety of inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging procedures. We work with some of the best Atlanta radiologists and medical imaging technologists who provide medical imaging services on our hospital campuses and through the outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Center and Diagnostic Breast Center.
DeKalb Medical was one of the first hospitals in the Atlanta area to offer fixed PET/CT scanning. Our main radiology services uses computed and digital radiography systems and a state-of-the-art picture archival and communications system (PACS) to allow our Atlanta radiologists and other medical specialists to view x-rays and other diagnostic images with computer systems as opposed to traditional film-based images.
DeKalb Medical’s medical imaging technologists are specially trained to ensure accurate images as well as your comfort when you use DeKalb Medical’s diagnostic radiology services. Each member of our team of highly-trained Atlanta radiologists has specific sub-specialty training in areas such as mammography, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, vascular imaging, musculoskeletal imaging and other medical imaging techniques. All of these Atlanta radiologists are board certified with the American College of Radiology.
Our sonographers, medical imaging technologists who perform ultrasound scans, are registered through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and are CPR certified. All medical imaging technologists at DeKalb Medical are registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and are CPR certified.
